The European Commission identifies 18 February 2027 as the mandatory passport milestone for the battery categories in scope. This date should not be applied to every product containing a battery.

What will the passport support?

A QR code linked to the battery will provide access to information about its characteristics and lifecycle. The operator placing the finished battery on the market is responsible for creating and maintaining the passport.
